Finding Song/Artist by Lyrics

Hi, I understand that you may not be able to return lyrics in the search results, but what about allowing for the look-up of song/artist information based on a snippet of lyrics?

    Thanks for your inquiry. Although we do provide searching by lyrics on the Y! Music Website, we do not expose this function in the Music API yet. If we can get the appropriate legal clearances for such a service, I would be happy to add this to our worklog to get implemented.

    Normally such a service would return small "snippets" of matching lyrics for each result, which might make it more difficult to pass legal constraints. I will request information from our Legal team on this and get back to you. Would you be happy if it just returned a list of matching tracks (no snippets), sorted by relevance?
