<salesGenreCode> on Artist List Response

Hi!, I want to know whether there is any description for <salesGenreCode> item (3 might be for "Pop" etc)?
It seems that one artist can belong to more than one genre, and it causes difficulty to classify artists in a broader genre (Genre's root?).

  • Our apologies. "salesgenrecode" has nothing to do with "genres" and will be removed in the next API release. Please don't use it.

    In the Y! Music world, we have "categories". Categories can be genres, eras, themes, etc. So just specify a "response=categories" parameter to get associated categories for something. i.e. us.music.yahooapis.com/artist/v1/item/256352;response=categories

    Thanks for your reply Scott. I will ignore the "salesgenrecode" tag, and keep using the url service that I always use to access (as the same as yours).
