We input emoticon with text in text box of yahoo! messenger and than send it
(ex: msg = "a<<<<<")

And then we received a response from yahoo server in local client program.
but we cannot found a emoticon text.

We checkd network packet by the wireshark.
And i known that the Yahoo! server not send fully message to client.
please let me know, why don't the server send fully message?

I just try and I actually have the same problem here (I tried with your input: a<<<<<) . It goes one way (from my custom app towards the official IM application but not the other way)

It's not a behaviour I want, but if i go with ":)test:)" I will receive ":)test:)"
It looks like ">" and "<" are cut by the Yahoo Server.
