You should be able to use the same Yahoo! account. Please try the following:

1. On your computer, log out of Yahoo!
2. Log back in to Yahoo! on your computer (remember the password)
3. Log in to the TV using the exact same username and password that worked on your computer. Use your username only, no need to include the "@yahoo.com" to your username.

Hello people, for some reason when I try to log (via tv) in to yahoo to add widgets it says my password, user I'd are wrong. I'm using the same log ins as I use to gain access to my yahoo a/c, do I need to set up a separate a/c.

Thanks Austin for the response. The profile is saving now and that's good. I still have issues with the TV itself (freezing when it starts up), but that's a Vizio problem I'm afraid. The model is one of the top models. The model is Xvt423sv. Any advice though?

Saving apps on Vizio TV. Need help

I have a profile on my Vizio yahoo connected TV that never saves properly and the system always updates the same apps or widgets. How can I save new profiles and new apps? Some new apps or widgets appear to install themselves, so I think my guest profile is somewhere just not on my Vizio Yahoo connected TV. Some new apps that I install like Vimeo or I heart radio never save if I turn the TV off.

You may check out this sample feed reader app. XML parsing is slow in general, so it is better if you use a json feed. The sample app uses YQL to fetch the json equivalent of the xml/rss feeds.

Hey guys, I am new to the yahoo Connected TV(CTV) KONtx API and was hoping for more from the samples provided with the dev kit.

My question is, are there any complete samples that demonstrate the functions similar to the Yahoo! News app on?

the purpose for this is to understand what the best practices for xml, rss, and json are... for example if I wanted to display the info from PBS NewsHour.

Are you trying to play the stream in the Simulator or on a TV? m3u8 streams are in beta and only supported by select Sony TVs at the moment.

How to Play .m3u8 file in KONtx framework?

Figured this out. As you'd expect using the URL to the image on the server gets the file. Thought I originally tried this but must not have had it right.

My widget needs to display a bunch of different images. If I include the images in the widget they exceed the 2MB max. Is it possible to keep the images on a server to display as needed?

It is confusing for YCTV as it seems that partners are pushing their own plaform or adopting GooglTV android ecosystem.Would be great if somebody at Yahoo could give some information.

Overall the DLink box is a good device to test Device Communication for general proof of concepts and testing. It is also much more portable :)

I have the PKG5.051AAS latest firware installed.Then Checking the YCTV Egine installed I haveYahoo Widget engine 5.5.1Widget App Framework 1.3.10PACKAGE_NAME

So I was wondering if I could use the latest improvement of ADK 1.3 ? And therefore I am trying to test the Device communication to be able to interact with TV and YCTV engine via home network (following the quick sample from the YCTV dev guide) but I cannot connect to the TV via SSL as described. So I would like also to know if my TV hardware/ firmware and the YCTV platform running on my TVs is not compatible with device communication. I was assuming that it was compatible with app framework, but I need to know if I have to keep trying or if it is a waste of time.Thanks in advence

I have installed directly ADK 1.3 on my ubuntu 12.04 TLS on my laptop. I am facing problems like : warning about libssl and libcrypto version number not being available AND the most important, when launching the simulator thru application launcher or command line (YCTV-SIM.sh ) it launch a blamk window and that's it. I am going to dig and try to capture infornation, but anybody had an experience with this configuration? Didn't find nothing in the Forum.Thanks in advance.

Yahoo! Connected TV does not support Flash. Additional information would help. What file format is the video you would like to stream in? Is it live streaming?

The recommended encoding format for Yahoo! Connected TV is; H.264 with MP4 (mpeg4) container, and AAC audio.

Hi all,

My company is planning on rolling out our own video streams, but before we do, we'd like to raise money with a demo. The demo could use any public streams, but we cannot find a public video stream that works. Have any of you found any that work, that you could point me to. We've spent about a week modifying the Media Player sample app, streaming that Rock movie with the kids, and I'm ready to look at something else. In the day that we've looked all we've found are YouTube streams, which Yahoo ConnectedTV doesn't seem to support.
