Server side of connected tv

I am developing an application for a 4th year project and I wanted to know for a server/web side of the application does it have to be in a specific language or am I able to develop it in any language I want and if so what would be the recommended language to develop in

  • You can use any language you want server-side.

    The two languages for importing data are XML and JSON.

    Use json. It's much more performant than xml.
