Hi,
I am new to Yahoo Widget. Currently I am trying to create a widget which will show categories fetched from xml and displayed on sidebar grid.

I have created different API file which is parsing the xml file but I am confused about where to call this function. (API.myfunction())

If I call this function in "createView", nothing seems to be happen.
If i call this function in "Updateview" it gives error.

If i call this function inside "_cellCreator" onselect event, it shows me my content. But I want to load xml categories once I click "select category" on sidebar which will define next view of category listings.

Kindly guide me or else provide me sample example which can describes how to connect to API, fetch data and show it on view.
