Hello, how can I build a channel for Yahoo Connected TV?
I need to create a TV Widget to add my VOD on Yahoo TV? I don't understand exactly how I can publish my video content on Yahoo Connected TV.
Yahoo! Connected TV has an open Widget Developer Kit (WDK) for developers to build apps for the platform. You can get the latest WDK on the Yahoo! Connected TV website at: http://connectedtv.yahoo.com/developer/#frmContact

If you have any questions or would like to contact a developer to help you build a VOD app go to the official Y! Hello,

Yes, you will need to create a TV widget to add your videos on Yahoo Connected TV. Check out the sample mediaplayer widget provided along with the WDK(available at http://connectedtv.yahoo.com/developer/), to get a basic idea of a simple widget that plays videos.

Thanks,
Vivek

QUOTE(Ionatan @ 5 Aug 2011 12:45 AM)

Hello, how can I build a channel for Yahoo Connected TV?
I need to create a TV Widget to add my VOD on Yahoo TV? Dislosure : I'm not affiliated with Yahoo! and they may know more than me

Essentially, what you do is create a widget/app that uses the KONtx media player to stream content from your site/host. You can limitedly skin the widget to match any brand you've created. It depends on the TV, but I've found most containers that use H.264/AAC to work nicely. I'm not wildly knowledgeable when it comes to video so other containers/encoding might work. From there you simply hardcode or import a feed into your widget and let Y! do it's thing

QUOTE(Ionatan @ 5 Aug 2011 12:45 AM)
Hello, how can I build a channel for Yahoo Connected TV?
I need to create a TV Widget to add my VOD on Yahoo TV?
