Yes, you will need to create a TV widget to add your videos on Yahoo Connected TV. Check out the sample mediaplayer widget provided along with the WDK(available at http://connectedtv.yahoo.com/developer/), to get a basic idea of a simple widget that plays videos.

Essentially, what you do is create a widget/app that uses the KONtx media player to stream content from your site/host.  You can limitedly skin the widget to match any brand you've created.  It depends on the TV, but I've found most containers that use H.264/AAC to work nicely.  I'm not wildly knowledgeable when it comes to video so other containers/encoding might work.  From there you simply hardcode or import a feed into your widget and let Y! do it's thing
