Some Incorrect TimeZones with Reverse Lookup

So far you've got Bali, Indonesia in Asia/Jakarta (should be Asia/Makassar).
All of Romania is coming back in GMT (should be Europe/Bucharest).
Is there a place where we can report these in future?

Thanks for pointing out the timezone error for Bali. We will fix this issue in a future release of GeoPlanet. As for Romania, GeoPlanet is returning Europe/Bucharest as the timezone. If you do not see the correct timezone for Romania, please provide a snippet of code that reproduces the problem so we can investigate further.

The correct place to report data errors in the Enhancement Requests forum (http://developer.yahoo.net/forum/index.php?showforum=27). While we cannot guarantee a fix-by data for each reported issue, we work to fix simple errors in each release.

Thanks Eddie,

I'll use the link you gave to submit data errors.

Try this reverse lookup for Ploieşti, a place in the middle of Romania:

http://where.yahooapis.com/geocode?q=44.94...mp;appid=APP_ID

I originally thought the time zone was GMT, actually it is missing altogether.

Further investigation shows there is an issue determining a WOEID for addresses in Romania (the returned woeid element is empty). This issue prevents PlaceFinder from returning a valid timezone element (which depends on the woeid element). We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may cause you. I'll open a bug to track the issue and get it fixed in a future release.

Well hello. Almost 1 year later and this still seems to be a problem. Whilst it is great you people at Yahoo are offering a free product like this, I guess it comes with a few caveats. Do you have a definitive list of ISO countries for which the time zone data works? That would help.<br>Clive Haworth<br>Amiplaying<br><br><div class="quote "><div class="quotetop ">QUOTE<cite>(Eddie B @ 22 Feb 2011 2:56 PM)</cite><blockquote class="quotemain"><!--quoteo(post=22513:date=Feb 16 2011, 02:13 AM:name=clive.haworth)--><div class="quote "><div class="quotetop ">QUOTE <cite>(clive.haworth @ Feb 16 2011, 02:13 AM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=22513">&lt;{POST_SNAPBACK}&gt;</a></cite><blockquote class="quotemain"><!--quotec-->Thanks Eddie,<br><br>I&#39;ll use the link you gave to submit data errors.<br><br>Try this reverse lookup for Ploieşti, a place in the middle of Romania:<br><br><br><br>I originally thought the time zone was GMT, actually it is missing altogether.<br><br>Clive Haworth<br>Amiplaying.com<!--QuoteEnd--></blockquote><!--QuoteEEnd--><br><br>Further investigation shows there is an issue determining a WOEID for addresses in Romania (the returned woeid element is empty).
