I can't seem to get this YQL to work as expedcted with the placefinder API:

SELECT * FROM geo.placefinder WHERE (neighborhood="clifton" OR city="clifton") AND locale="GB" AND gflags="L"

This however does produce results:

SELECT * FROM geo.placefinder WHERE neighborhood="clifton" AND locale="GB" AND gflags="L"

It doesn't seem to like the OR clause in the parentheses at all.

When querying http://where.yahooapis.com/v1/places.q('Barcelona%20spain')?format=xml&appid=yourappid

We get a strange boung box :

2.071920 2.071920 41.471142 2.226840

You will notice the southWest latitude is wrong.

How can we fix this ?

How accurate is Geoplanet data? Do I need to perform innacuracies check in my code before actually using an entity ?

There was a change in the limit of requests that a user can do. Yahoo is using the HTTP status code 418 to notify the client that the number of requests is over the limit (you can check the error message when you get this response).

Have the same problem with music api.I always get "Invalid appid"

If you say "make sure to use application id and not project id" I wonder where this would be?All I have is a 8 character "application id", a long consumer key and a (not that long) consumer secret.I don't have a project id.using the 8 character application id in a curl call to e.g. http://us.music.yahooapis.com/track/v1/list/search/track/diamonds?appidleads to the mentioned error.

I've seen this too. It is possible Yahoo have interpreted the co-ordinates as WGS-84 (because they looked decimal) whereas the data source may have used a different datum, OSGB-36. Maybe Yahoo could look into this?

Bali,Indonesia seems to be in the incorrect time zone. It is reported as Asia/Jakarta, should be Asia/Makassar. I reported this about 2 years ago:

I'm just a user of email who accesses her email on her phone and PC.

I do have a bunch of emails in the account, but nothing "massive" (I use the account for freecycle.org emails).

And I can't even SUBMIT an error report (That comes up with an error 7)

This just started happening to me today for geoplanet lookups.

If I use my browser to retrieve the xml response it works perfectly. If I try to do it programmatically using PHP, I get the 418 unused error.

I even creating a new app id, but same error.

I'm on Dreamhost.

and has been running perfectly for well over a year using the geoplanet api.

There are others here also getting 418 errors.

Also, where is the best place to submit notifications to Yahoo about these kind of errors?

I have found a number of these 'non-existant' WOEID mappings from Geonames as well. Of 363 GeonameIDs I tried to resolve with the concordance API, 51 of them were mapped to WOEIDs that do not actually exist. Here are a few other examples:
