yahoo apps update kills my volume and menu options vizio m650vse
I just changed my mainboard thinking this was a mainboard issue with the TV (m650vse) but the same problem
happens with the new board after yahoo updates their apps when I try to use them for the first time after a factory
reset ,The remote does not respond for the tv , it will work for the apps, but everything else hd menu, volume ,
and channel control .....ETC. do not work ,
If I do not use the widget beyond actually trying to connect , after a reset it works fine , I wish I had tried this before spending $127 on a mainboard for a tv that is only a year old . To find out it is something with the yahoo store update .
One of the reasons for buying this tv was for smart function , now it seems useless,
It did work for a year I am thinking it is something with the code after the update, and it updates immediately after I try to use any app after reset
I will send a copy of this to vizio to find out if there is any fix to this , or if I am stuck with a bad tv,
it was a good tv but I think I will stay away from another vizio and or yahoo widgets
I reported this last year to support - along with not being able via wifi. After giving up in frustration after talking to support a couple of times and simply 'adapted' my usage by never using these things. After waiting over a year, I assumed there would be a firmware update by this point that would correct these things - so I hard wired my TV again, connected - and all the same issues were this there. Greatly disappointed, again...
Artie, Vizio customer service commented that if there is Sonos in the home and if so, just unplug it and see if that resolves the issue. If there’s no Sonos or it wasn’t resolved then verify if any other computers on the network are powered up and shut them down.
