Testing on a Samsung TV

Hi,

We have a Samsung TV in our lab and wish to test some sample widgets onto it.
Is there a way to test them locally without uploading them onto the Gallery?

    Use the Samsung 540 simulators.

Or follow pg 85-86 of the dev guide to post your widget to a dev gallery and load it on your tv only.

  • It is giving me an install error after I try downloading it from the widget gallery.
Has anyone had a similar problem before?

When you say "use the Samsung 540 simulators", you mean that there is a simulator specific to the Samsung and/or all widget-enabled TVs? I've just been using the one that came with the SDK that I received - how do I know for which specific TV it is set?

    Thanks!

  • By what menu option you selected to start the simulator. ;)If you don't see that option, it means you haven't been paying attention to sticky posts at the top of the forum about new WDK releases (3 months ago if memory serves).

  • I'm also curious to know if there's a way to test locally on a Samsung TV without having to upload the widget first to Y!

Only using a Simulator. You must upload to test on a TV.
