For those of you deploying widgets now or in the near future until this post is updated, instead of:

"platform.currentAppData" use "currentAppData"

Instead of:

"platform.currentAppConfig" use "currentAppConfig"

There is an issue with the "platform.*" version in the field and thus what is causing the problem you are seeing with not being able to save on TVs.
