I would like to create a small view (instead of the side bar) , very similar to the welcome banner which get displayed on the top right hand corner of the tv and fades away when we start the widgets on the tv, the only difference is it will not fade away and stay there just like a side bar until user closes it.

Is it possible to create a small rectangular view on top of the tv screen to display some thing like a stock quote or a game score or some thing like that.

Appreciate any inputs to achieve this requirement.
