We just bought a brand new 60" e-series smart tv. The apps that show up when you push the main buttin, like yahoo! weather, Netflix, etc. are working just fine. But when I go to the system settings and click on broadcast interactivity so that I can download other apps it says "Broadcast Interactivity Service is currently unavailable. Please check back later." It has been nearly 24 hours since we set up the t.v. and it continues to give the same message. I have already tried a factory reset and that does not solve the problem.
On newer Vizio models, you press Via button once for the main dock that has the pre-loaded apps and then press the Via button again which will bring up the fullscreen gallery. MyApps tab will show what is loaded on your dock. Scroll over to the other tabs such as Exclusive or Category to download more apps. If you would like an app saved to the dock, select the app bookmark in the fullscreen gallery and then press/hold down Ok button until a star shows up on the bookmark.
I have a new E series model and pushing the Via button once brings up the main dock and pusing it again makes it go away so pusing the Via button twice does essentially nothing (brings up the dock and sends it away again).
Also even though my tv is connected to the internet by wifi, (it shows connected, 5 bars strong signal and connection test is successful) when I try to load an app such as yahoo news or youtube or facebook it acts like the tv is not connected and brings up a box that when I click on how to connect takes me to the wifi connections settings which is already connected.
I'm new to this so maybe I am just missing something. Maybe you have some other suggestions?
I am having the exact same set of issues as David. None of the apps work. And pushing Via buttons twice just makes the apps buttons on the bottom disappear. My connection to the internet tests fine and I have done a factory reset a few times already. Model is e550i-B2. Just purchased two days ago.
Wondering if I should exchange the TV back to CostCo and try my luck with another?
I'm having the same issue as David too but I'm on the Vizio M501d-A2R model. I've tried factory reset and connecting through wifi and eithernet but nothing is working. Every app I try to open just pulls up a side window on the screen telling me to "Connect your VIZIO Inc. TV to the Internet" and giving me the option to go the the network setup menu. I also can't acess the fullscreen V.I.A menu same as David.
