need help for developer api key

Hi,

Iam a complete newbie to the yahoo developer api. Just trying to get started on a new application. But i need to get hold of a developer key first and i am stuck at that point.

I have tried the domain name verification step and it fails every time, even though i have uploaded the zero byte file with the random file name generated by yahoo onto my website (into the root folder).

I keep getting this message as well.

"API Key Creation Failed"

All i want is to get my developer key. Any help would be appreciated.
