I am attempting to use the OAuth Placefinder API for geocoding on a project. I'm using PHP 5.3 and the bundled cURL library to do my HTTP GET requests. I've run into an interesting problem wherein (apparently) I have hit the rate limit after a single successful request.
The headers (time, etc.) appear to be generated correctly by the OAuth library
However, I'm getting: "HTTP 503: Rate Limit Exceeded Key has exceeded its configured rate limit" as a result despite definitely not hitting that limit (checked API usage log). Furthermore, I don't think it's from a malformed parameter - I did run into that once when I had format=json instead of flags=J. The same "Rate Limit Exceeded" was returned in that case but I don't think that's an issue this time since I get a few requests through ok.
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated. Or if there is a more appropriate place to discuss this please let me know!
