Time lag with free yahoo stock quotes.
What's the time lag associated query a yahoo stock quote query such as the following (excel vba code):
URLstr = "http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes?s=" & Ticker & "&f=l1"
The time lag seems to be variable and with at least one very small cap name today, I believe the market close price didn't get updated for something like 15=20 minutes.
I know that yahoo has a for-pay realtime stock quote service and I know that's it's 10.95 or 13.95 / mth depending on which plan you pick. Web-based realtime stock quotes were hard to get 10 yrs ago - that's much less the case today and I'm not sure the value-added here merits the price.
This would appear to be a piece of yahoo's business model writ small.
