Local Search Web Services for Canada

Hi,
I'm integrating Yahoo's local search api Yahoo's local search api into our gps software and it's working really well in the US.

However for queries in Canada almost no data is returned. If I do a search on Yahoo Maps Canada I get good local results but I don't know how to access the database supplying it. The local search API seems to use the same as maps.yahoo.com. Is there a flag for the web service or a different URL I can hit?

    Hi, just wondering if anybody has any insight into accessing the local search data in canada using the v3 api?

  • i would also like to see a response from yahoo on this. would also like to see the documentation made explicit with regard to what countries are searched (apparently it is USA only but this is not stated in the docs)

    is the local search api only available for the USA?

    if not, how are other countries searched?

    if so, are there plans to expand the scope to include any of the other 194 countries of the world?

  • I second Dan's request. I'm getting great results with a US location, but nothing in Canada. Yahoo, you must have something that works in Canada!
