Does Yahoo support RPC pings anymore? Also what is the difference between their ping service and updateNotification?

I was looking through my logs and noticed that when I try to RPC ping the following address it fails:

http://api.my.yahoo.com/RPC2

Not sure how long this has been going on, but it was working at some point. Has this service been disabled?

What is the replacement and can that replacement be incorporated in blogs like wordpress?
