Stats API - season projections

Is there a way to retrieve season projected stats and also the projected fan points/fan points from prior seasons (from a given league/game)?

  • Mmmm. Not right now -- different stat provider, so I'm not sure we have the rights to publish that data to our public services.

come on, this is the main reason I want to create my app!!
The projected points are available on the FF pages why not make them available on the service too? I don't see the difference, if I want to use the API I have to sign in and have a secure authentication anyway..!?!?!

I doubt it's that simple. Yahoo offers their own data to the public but I doubt their contract with said stats provider states "Also, you may give away these stats to anyone via your API" as they sold the rights to Yahoo and not us. So it's a grey area that can be debated by average users like us but ultimately lawyers and contracts make the decisions. So yes while you can web scrape data off the Yahoo website, it's not legal. However, using everything via the API is.

At the moment, no. The data is provided by a separate company from our primary statistical data and I'm not sure if we're contractually allowed to present that data in our services. I have an open question posed to my product managers/legal people to try to find out, though.

Thanks, Phil, that's exactly the issue. :) Merging the other threads on this topic into this thread as well.
