Quick random question... what's the difference between stat_id = 0, and stat_id = 1 in baseball? They both correspond to "Games Played". stat_id = 0 claims its position_types are pitchers and batters, but stat_id=1 claims its only position types are batters. I'm confused...
Stat IDs 0 and 1: Heh, yeah, that is a bit ambiguous. Basically: we'll update stat 0 for both batters and pitchers. We'll update stat 1 only for batters. So, in theory, if you were able to get stat 1 for a pitcher, it wouldn't be set to anything even if the pitcher had played in a game in that context.
If you want, you can think of stat ID 1 as "Games Played as a Batter".
Stat ID 60: Fair point, but that's how we display it on the site (as H/AB), so that's what comes through in the webservice. :) EDIT: You are right about the fact it's missing a position, though -- it's only present as a display stat in our code, which is probably how it gets thrown off a bit. That may not get fixed this season, as I'd worry more about introducing bugs by changing its position data than I feel like we'll get out of having it strictly correct.
