I currently use Pencil (http://pencil.evolus.vn/en-US/Home.aspx) within Firefox for my wireframe designs. Are these stencils available for Pencil.

Great stencil. I hated using the vdx version in Visio. This is much better, and incorporates some nice updates (like the add button!).

Almost everybody of UX, Interaction, Graphics or Web Designers knows Stencil Kit from Yahoo. The problem is that Yahoo stencils are outdated and they are in wrong format for Visio. They are in format XML Drawing (*.vdx) which cannot be used as stencil. So, the result that stencils are not usable.

So I decided to improve current stencil for iPhone and convert it to appropriate format, Stencil (*.vss). I added new elements - iPhone 4, loading popup, note, clear text, black version of Safary, I improved font size and weight, visual improvements of buttons etc. I send this improved to Yahoo, so I hope that they will update their stencils. I like the stencils posted here but it was not convenient to use them in Visio the way they were made.
So I made the "real" stencil that can be opened in Visio 2010 and used as any other Visio stencils.
You can download it from my website or ask Yahoo folks to post it as download on the page with the rest of downloads.

you can open them directly into visio. I then had to create new shapes and add each item individually, by dragging them over to the shape box.

i am not sure how to install the stencils?

I wish Font files are also enclosed, as when u open them in illustrator, it shows missing fonts/font families like Helvetica, Gotham, ZapfDingbatsITC etc...can someone pl upload these fonts

Is there an actual date that can be communicated as opposed to "coming soon"? I'm stuck w/ using Visio 2003. I'd like to make use of these patterns, but until they're real stencils it's a bit of a problem.

Have the updates for this been pushed out?

I am using Visio 07 and running into the same issue no matter what I try. This is forcing me to drag n drop/copy paste from one window into the other rather than being able to work with the stencils like I normally do in Visio. Maybe I am just missing something, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have noticed the following three files missing from the SVG zip download:

• Screen Resolutions
• Tabs
• Windows and Containers

AFAICT, it's a shape.

That's a strange one! Is the X a true shape or actually a character? Maybe it's being changed to a different character somehow?

I can check with the creator of the stencils.

Using Visio 2003, the "X" to close a window looks fine when opening the source file (Windows and Containers.vdx), but the "X" turns into a "U" shape when the shape is copied and pasted into a new Visio doc.

Anyone else experienced this? If so, do you have a workaround?
