That's a feature called dock overlay. Some OEMs support it, some don't.

  • Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for the response. Actually the problem I want to solve is the following reported by the Yahoo QA when submitting the widget for approval:

    Yahoo QA bug report:

[Toshiba] Video is playing in back ground on selecting return from full screen video

    Tested on Toshiba TV

    Engine: 5.5.13
    FW: 1.3.28

    Widget version: 1.0.0
    Reproducibility: 100%

    1.Start TV
    2.Launch side bar
3.Select Premium Area from side bar home page
4.Select Features tab from full screen
5.Select any movie to open movie details page
6.Select Play from movie details page
7.It starts playing video in full screen
    8.Select Return from remote
    9.It return to previous screen

Observe in background it's playing video. able hear the audio.

Could you please suggest a way of handling this problem ? I noticed that the Yahoo! Video widget handles this problem gracefully by displaying a dialog when the back button is pressed asking whether it should return or continue playback.
