yahooid of the user

Hello. I've been searching the documentation for the past few hours and I have yet to discover how I can find out the yahoo id of the user that just logged in. I can find all the contacts, I can find the user's guid, nickname and others, but I can't find his username sad.gif. Can someone please help me ?

  • Hi Gabi,

The main social details from Yahoo! are obtained through the use of the user's GUID. There is not currently a facility for converting the GUID of the user over to a Yahoo! id because a GUID may reference several different older forms of identification. The GUID can be used to obtain the social details that you would need from Yahoo! - unless there's something specific you need.

  • That makes sense. Thanks a lot for the reply :)On the website, the user has to insert his username and password in order for his contacts to be notified of something. The username should appear in the message title so that the contacts will know who sent them the email. Can you point me towards a way of getting the username typed by the user ? I don't really care what form of authentication he uses, I only want the email receivers to somehow recognize the sender.

  • In the Contacts API response, the value for the field type "yahooid" corresponds to the yahoo username for that contact
