My apologies. Man what a way to end the year. Looks like the guy that maintains my servers didn't renew my main storage domain name. :aThanks for your interest and let me know if you have Any issues.

  • Jim Hamilton here... Still advancing this app. Quick zoom is cool. Added elevation to the geocode data. A fun way to get around is just click on a US city from the starting map. The geocode data will offer lots of options that you can explore from. Click "Vis" to get Virtual Earth images if available, and click "Help" anytime for more.

  • Author here, thanks for dropping by. Many issues resolved with Zyp. Try cranking your browser full screen and go exploring... This thing is under development, so give it a refresh once and a while. Have fun...

  • You're welcome Tyler, GeoPlanet rocks! Nice to have some feedback in this forum, besides myself...

Added PermaLinks to Zyp. Just click on the map marker. I need to create a new marker though.

Here's an example: Golden Gate Bridge

  • I just realized that the county polygon for San Francisco is faulty. I get my polygons from PropertyMaps and almost all are spot on.

Here's a permalink from my neck of the woods, at the base of the Grand Tetons, Idaho side, in Terrain mode:

The creek starts here, flows down through town and into one of the best trout streams in the country.

  • Ok, I'm done...

Zyp has turned out pretty cool if I do say so. Sorry for the multiple posts in this topic, I didn't intend it to be a developers blog.

I've added Google street view to the mix and it's rounded it out perfectly.

Thanks to GeoPlanet you can find places quickly and then see them visually.

Zyp is like the glue that binds mapping, geocoding, elevation, place visuals and services (via SakMap) together, and allows you to permalink the location.

On a final note here, where are the other applications? What else are people doing with GeoPlanet?
