The Yahoo Developer Network is very excited and proud to announce the fifth Open Hack India event to be held in Bangalore, India on August 11-12 2012. This is the 5th Open Hack in India and we will celebrate the fact by making this the biggest and best Open Hack ever.
The first Open Hack in India was hosted way back in 2007. 180 developer and designers attended the event, mostly from the Bangalore area. Over the years, the event has grown in size and reputation. Last year we had around 4000 people interested in the event and 800 attended from around 20 different states. For the 5th time, we hereby issue a call to action for developers and designers from all across India and Asia to come to Bangalore and participate in this most awesome of events!
Yahoo! will provide you with everything you need to have fun, be creative and productive, and impress your peers with what you can do with a computer and the wealth of technologies and data available on the Web.
We will be fueling your creativity with a variety of Yahoo! technologies and APIs, including YUI, YQL, Mojito, BOSS, Messenger, Flickr, and more. We will introduce you to lots of wonderful data sets that are ripe for mashup and visualization. We will keep you fed, watered and entertained for the duration of the event. All you need to bring is your creativity, your laptop, and your toothbrush.
As this is a celebration of the 5th Yahoo! Open Hack event in India, expect the unexpected and an event that you will remember for a long time to come. As we expect a huge amount of interest for the event, the application form has some questions that are designed to pick the best developers and designers for the event. Please make sure you take the time to fill out the questions as best as you can.
