Chapter 1. Upgrading Existing Geo to New BOSS Geo

Upgrading from the former Yahoo! Geo offering to the Yahoo! BOSS Placefinder and PlaceSpotter services involves two steps:

  1. Creating a new key and
  2. Updating your code

Creating a New BOSS Key

Creating a Yahoo! BOSS key involves three steps:

  1. Creating an oAuth Key
  2. Enter a payment instrument such as a credit card or PayPal
  3. Optionally apply for Sponsored Search Ads

Note

If you have an existing BOSS key then please ignore the key creation process. Your existing key can be used to access the new Yahoo! BOSS Geo services
