I'm happy to announce that Yahoo!'s Cody Simms will be participating on a panel about The Future of App Stores at Paypal's X Innovate 2009 conference. The Yahoo! Application Platform is an important part of what we are working on here at YDN and we are excited to be working with the rest of the industry to push the boundaries. X Innovate is PayPals new developer conference and will take place in San Francisco Nov 3-4.
Cody Simms joined Yahoo! in 2005 and is currently Senior Director of Product Management for the Yahoo! Open Strategy, which includes all of Yahoo!s user generated content platforms, social platforms, and open application platform efforts. Before Yahoo!, Cody held product management positions at The New York Times, Sprint PCS, and NBC Internet.
Our friends over at Paypal are really excited about X Innovate and so are we! This is what they had to say about the conference:
PayPal Innovate X 2009 is the one place where you can learn how to capitalize on PayPals products, get exclusive access to conference-only APIs, and be front and center in over 35 interactive, technical sessions and Code & Build Labs. Weve got a great lineup of speakers this year, including one of the industrys most exciting visionaries, Tim OReilly.
Conference attendees will also get a sneak peek at our roadmap for the next year and receive exclusive access to the new APIs. Ordinary mortals wont get their hands on these APIs until mid-2010, but come to Innovate 09, and theyre all yours...
Paypal have kindly sponsored 30 tickets for the first lucky developers to sign up with the code YAHOOPP.
Check out the event details and then register for your free pass on the registration page. On the registration page you will find a link in orange Enter Discount Code, please enter YAHOOPP. This should set the price of the ticket to $0. We only have 30 to give away and it's first come, first served, one per person. Once they are gone, they are gone.
The PayPal team has put together a great speaker line-up, including a keynote by Tim OReilly. Attending will be some of the most innovative developers in mobile, consumer electronics and financial services. Early adopters will demonstrate how theyre already using the PayPal platform.
We'd love to hear your thoughts about app platforms, and we'll see you there!
