The OpenSocial Foundation and SURFnet are hosting the first European OpenSocial
Europe Summit and OpenSocial Industry Spotlight on Education event, to
be held in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on December 6 - 7, 2010.
As a charter member and board member of the OpenSocial Foundation, Yahoo! is committed to supporting OpenSocial specifications and continues to work with the Foundation on new features, such as OSML and OpenSocial Templates. The Yahoo! Application Platform Developers Guide documents the features that are fully compatible with OpenSocial specifications.
The event will focus on OpenSocial's technologies and implementations and on its use in Research and Education. SURFnet is organizing and hosting the event.
Day one will feature prominent speakers from the OpenSocial community on the nuts and bolts of the specification, best practices for building social applications, and OpenSocial within the enterprise. There will also be technical sessions on understanding Apache Shindig, the open source reference framework for OpenSocial..
The second day focuses on OpenSocial in Research and Education. Industry experts from the research and educational sector will discuss their experiences with OpenSocial. SURFnet will demonstrate how OpenSocial plays an important role in enabling group-centric Collaboration in an open, platform-independent way.
